Last weekend Czarnkow courts became the venue of a prestigious Tennis Tournament - Komat 2019 Doubles Grand Prix. The tournament has been attracting many very good tennis players from all over Poland for years. There are many reasons for the players' great interest in playing in Czarnków, but above all it is an unusual setting unseen at similar venues, excellent organization and, thanks to the patronage of Komat, very attractive prizes.
Tennis players began their struggles at the local sports club "Nałęcz" courts in Czarnków on Saturday, September 7, from the very morning, and the final games ended on late Sunday afternoon, September 8. In the first match of the tournament, the pair Mieczysław Kozłowski - Titular Sponsor and Zbigniew Zalewski - the president of the sports club met with Wojtek Kasztelan and Mariusz Kasztelan from Trzcianka. During the first part of the match rainy clouds hung over Czarnków that did not give players peace until the evening. Fortunately, our friends from across the Noteć offered help and the first match and the rest of the tournament were continued in the tennis hall in Trzcianka. Wojtek and Mariusz, thank you very much.

As every year, the sponsor and organizers took care not only of the excellent organization of the sports competitions themselves, but also of the gastronomic and artistic aspects. The tournament hit for years has been a roasted piglet for all participants and guests.

In the tournament, however, the most important is tennis and sports rivalry, and this year it stood at an extremely high level. Starting from the quarter-finals you could see really top-class tennis (although apparently the first match was equally nice), which was watched with interest by a large group of fans of this wonderful sport. On Sunday morning, the main tournament semi-finals started, followed by consolation tournament matches, in which players play after losing the first match, and of course at the very end there was the grand final. Paweł Dymnicki from Poznań and Sylwek Baryczkowski from Czarnków are the pair who won the Komat 2019 Grand Prix, which, however, did not come easy for them, because Piotr Szliep from Chojnice and Wojtek Zalewski from Czarnków fought bravely to the last ball and it was not known who would receive the winners' cups. Paweł Majewski from Kołobrzeg and Tomasz Kaliszczak from Koszalin came third on the box, followed by Tomasz Dłużak from Piła and Artur Adamczak from Opalenica. The final enjoyed great interest because for many years there has been no such situation in the final that on the opposite sides of the net there were two players of our Sports Club. Well done Sylwek and Wojtek. The "consolation" tournament was won by players from Czarnków - Tomasz Wachoński and Tomasz Zembik. Komat Grand Prix sponsor Mieczysław Kozłowski presented the winners with very impressive cups and prizes.

The organizers thank all the players, accompanying persons, guests and fans for creating a brilliant sporting and friendly atmosphere, despite the difficult autumn weather conditions.
